LUMINESCENCE AND ENERGY TRANSFER MECHANISMS OF EU2+, MN2+ CODOPED BAMGAL10O17 PHOSPHOR

Abstract


Eu2+, Mn2+ codoped BaMgAl10O17 (BAM) phosphors were synthesized by the method of solution combustion. Under the selective excitation at 306 nm, the emission spectra of the phosphors had a blue emission band at 450 nm and a green emission band at 513 nm. Energy transfer mechanism from Eu2+ to Mn2+ was clarified. The results indicated that the Eu2+ ions replaced with the Ba2+ sites and Mn2+ ions occupied the Mg2+ sites. The color-shift of phosphors under excitation of 306 nm was displayed at variable concentration of Mn2+ ion.
